Our youngest competitor - Kenzie Myers

Kenzie competed in her first competition ever this past weekend at the Amherst Invitational in NS. She claimed first place finishes on all four events vault, bars, beam, and floor. “there is no word to describe Kenzie other than superstar, she is our youngest competitor here at VGC and is one of our most advanced athletes, she is very talented at such a young age and we expect nothing but future success for this little champion” says Head coach Kristi Shoemaker. Our other athletes who competed in the Intermediate category this weekend Zoe Stewart, Susan Wu, and Julia Excoffery also had outstanding performances taking home first and second place titles.

Argo 2- Brenna Ing

In the argo 2 category Brenna Ing had a strong performance, she placed 4th on beam and floor, 2nd on bars and took home the bronze Medal in the all around competition. ” I am very proud of Brenna this weekend” says her coach Sophia Kyriakopoulos. ” she has hit the qualifying score two times this year for atlantics but is still too young to make the team, we expect her to be on top in the Argo 2 category next season” Way to go Brenna!!

Tyro 2- Sarah & Grace White

Sarah placed 3rd on the bars and 8th place in the all around competition while her twin sister Grace took 4th place on the bars. Both girls have hit their qualifying scores to represent PEI at the Atlantic Championships in NFLD in April. “our twins show a lot of potential” says Head coach Kristi Shoemaker ” they have only been training for 8 months now and have accomplished so much in such a short period of time”.
